Default Coolant leak? Should I buy this car?

i am looking at a 2008 accord coupe ex-l. automatic, loaded, 46k miles on it. certified by dealer engine and tranny until 100k or 2015, which ever comes first.

here is my only concern...

i noticed the coolant bottle was below min level (radiator was full). we took it for a ride and got the engine up to temp. coolant was still below min and i could smell a coolant smell. my daughter even smelled it. could not find any leaks. doesn't sit well that coolant is low and i smell it. i start thinking maybe the water pump is starting to weep out the weep hole. but can not confirm. the car would be covered under warranty by the honda dealer.

any thoughts on where the coolant may be going and if this would be a good by.

thanks,
mike

possibly a heater core? You could always mention it to the dealer because the hole "thats normal" gig doesnt apply to this. see if you can talk em down a couple hundred or have them fix it in exchange for your purchase. or some other kind of deal. at the very least. Talk them down. so if its a simple leak you could fix it yourself. but if your not mechanically inclined. it could cost you anywhere from $400-1000 for a large job. but the first think i would do is mention it and dont listen to the hole" it's normal we just services it blah blah blah" Just look further into as well. My coolant problem ended up being a head gasket which i could smell coolant at times. It's hard to tell without actually having the car. I suppose you could probe the dealer for answers.

thanks for the advice. the good news is whatever it is would be completely covered under warranty.
