Default Cost for key replacement

I have an '04 Accord. One of my keys physically broke (I have the other key and it works fine) so I need a replacement key cut and programmed (it's the key with the integrated lock/unlock buttons).

When calling an automotive locksmith, about how much (ballpark) should I expect to pay for this? I just want to make sure that I don't overpay. Thanks.

How the hell did you manage that? I called two dealers and they both said like $80 for the key itself, then $150 for the programming. I also called an automotive locksmith and they said $180 for the whole thing. I can find the key for $20 online, but I can't cut/program the key myself.

My son's 2004 Accord EX is at the dealer as I type to have two new keys cut and programmed. The program fee is a flat $135. Was quoted $74 a key.

I got lucky. I purchased a key off of Amazon (OE). Then went to Honda for service some time later. They cut and programmed it for free since I was there. You make save around $10 buying a key third part but you will have to pay to get it cut and programmed.
