I am thinking to buy 04 EX 4 cyl auto from a private sale (15k miles only). But my old accord (91) transmission failed and I paid $4000 to get a new tranny! People say honda transmission problems is well known. Do newer accords like this 04 have any thing like that?

Also AAA magazine reports that Honda cars are slow in pumping up heater and aircon (maybe to save gas). Do you experience the same with Accord 04?

the tranny, no idea
the AC if i puton on full cool it gets cold with in about 15 sec
heat no idea as i havent driven in the cold yet

 

the 98-2000 automatic trannies had problems and were the case of a class action suite. However, all of the other transmissions seem to be just fine, there are a number of people on here with well over 200,000 miles with no problems, I've got 145-150,000 miles on my car and it still runs great

 

CReports shows excellent for 04 Honda EX 4 tranny.
01 is poor meaning the pits.
