Default Crank no Spark 2001 Accord

I have a 2001 Honda accord 2.3 eng.

After replacing distributor, ignition, wires and a used pigtail connector for the distributor there is intermittent black wire at the pigtail going to the distributor. No codes showing also and all fuses checked. Any help on this would be great.

What do you mean by intermittent black wire at the pigtail?

My first guess is the wires are wrong...
Or something happened to the ignition coil

How are you testing for spark?

When you replaced the distributor, did it come with a new coil?

What do you mean by intermittent black wire at the pigtail?

To answer that, there are four wires leading to the (female) connector that plug into the Distributor connector. One of the four wires are black, and a experienced mechanic said that the black wire works off and on with power. Mechanic was using a mobile Snap-on analyzer to trouble shoot. Also, the factory connector has been replaced with a used one, that has been soldered in. I can send a picture of this if you like. Lastly, when I tried to use wire nuts instead of soldering the connector in, the car did start twice.

(I guess a pigtail is the term for one side of a connector)

THanks for the reply.

Looking at the wiring diagram, the blk/yel is constant 12V. Yel/Grn is the switch, which should get switched on/off ground to fire the coil. I'm pretty sure it is grounded, then when ground is switched off, the coil fires a spark.

Yellow and black are for the CYP sensor.

The wires that lead to the connector are matched with the correct colors and the coil is a new that is installed in an after market distributor. Also, there are four wires leading to the (female) connector that plug into the Distributor connector. One of the four wires are black, and a experienced mechanic said that the black wire works off and on with power. Mechanic was using a mobile Snap-on analyzer to trouble shoot. Thanks for the reply.

You can post a picture. I'm working off the factory shop manual showing the yel/grn wire is the signal from the PCM to fire the coil.

There could be an issue with the yellow or black wire to the CYP sensor. If you have a scanner, can you check for any error codes?

Attached is the pic mentioned. I did check the codes with a scanner and there is nothing. The mechanic (ASE) did mention the black wire was off and on with power. I'll double check the neg. batt. cable just in case. Fuel pump good and the relay under the dash does click when the key is on. Thanks for the reply.

Question is where is this the solid black wire starting at for power?. Can't trace this wire without cutting into some factory tape. Also,. due to bad female connector the whole connector has been replace with a used one and soldered in as shown on the picture. Can't locate a good schematic to view myself. Note the current distributor is not factory. Lastly, the dealer didn't have a wiring diagram when I stopped by.
