Default Cruise control not working

Today I went to set the cruise and the cruise control light stayed on and the cruise control wouldn’t stick, as in the speedometer kept going down but the cruise light was on, I don’t know why, I pulled the ACC fuse under the dash and the ACC backup fuse by the engine and that didn’t work to fix the issue. I have a 2003 Honda Accord EX 4cyl 2.4
Let me know if there is anything I can do to fix it easy or if I’ll need some professional help, thanks

Is this an automatic or manual transmission? Any recent work done on the car?

There are several inputs required for the cruise control to operate. Here is a simple check. Do your brake lights work properly or are they on all the time?

this is an automatic, and the brake lights work properly, and no recent work done other than replacing battery

One item to check is the actuator cable connection to the throttle body. In some accords, the plastic collar that the cruise control cable pulls to open the throttle body could break and the cable can't open the throttle body to maintain speed.

I'd also stop by a parts store and have them scan for codes to see if that could give you some direciton. Hopefully their scanner can pull body control module codes. You could also try getting a bluetooth scanner from the web and use something like torque pro for DIY scanning. Just do some research to see if the setup can pull body control module and other non-obd2 standard codes.
