Default cv axle

my front end vibrates on heavy acceleration. I was thinking it is the cv joint passenger side, I see little cracks in outer boot. riding home from work, I was starting to think it is the clutch. going to change cv axle or axles first. clutch grabs good, doesn't slip. just front end vibrates on heavy acceleration. ?

The clutch is highly unlikely. I'm calling axles. I just replaced the axles on my TL last week for the very same reason, a significant shimmy during acceleration; everything is nice and smooth now. I don't know if APWI makes axles for your car, but I highly recommend them if they do, the axles are inexpensive and very smooth.

It is definitely the half shafts. Do not use cardone. I was a believer in them until my 07 accord went out and I had to replace them. The first time I got the vibration on hard acceleration then took them back for replacement and got the same thing. I didn't return them because I was not going to do the job a third time. It's been 4 years since and eventually I will replace them. I know before the replacement I didn't have the vibration so I knew it was bad shafts.

After reading a lot of glowing reviews on various Acura web sites, I just swapped the 1-Year old Duralast axles (probably repackaged Cardone units) on my TL with a very inexpensive set of new APWI axles; I believe APWI makes axles for most Accords and they are typically between $45 and $50 per side. Not bad, under $100 for two new axles which operate nice and smooth with nary a shimmy.

I'm thinking possible, but unlikely; acceleration vibrations are typically axles.

got a new driver's side axle from, autozone, a duralast , installed it, car still shimmies on acceleration. going to change passenger side this weekend. cv axle was stuck in there, found a way to get it out .the passenger side is original it has little cracks in the boots.

Ugh, I replaced my original axles last year with Duralast axles, they suck; the car still shimmied. This year I replaced my almost new Duralast axles with new APWI axles and now the car is nice and smooth. See post #4 in this thread.
