Wheel "pulse" jerks to the right while turning left is a 100% sure thing that your outer right CV joint is shot.

Thanks Angelo!
I actually sold them on eBay already as they had 20 cent listing fees so I couldnt pass that up!

I just called Midas. $190 to replace one CV Joint
Guess I wont be driving until Monday. I'll have them do the 40 point or w/e free inspection beforehand but wont get suckered w/ stupid filter flushes and such. Might ask them about the MPG too.

Any other ideas MPG wise? My dad doesnt think the CV joint would have much to do w/ it.

Jacked her up afte taking a ride with my dad. Here are the results.

Passenger side is fine, Ill get the boot replaced though. Any idea as to how much that is w/ labor?

Still need to figure out this whole MPG thing though. We tried using propane to find a vacuum leak, but even putting it next to the filter didnt affect the idle, so we need something else.

wow, 190 bucks to replace a cv joint, glad i replaced mine myself. part itself was 95 but there was a core charge of 30, so it was only 65 after i brought the core back to the store. dang lower control arm bolt was the hardest part of it.

Part cost $59.99 at AutoZone and comes with a Lifetime Warranty...ask an Auto Zoner who looks like he knows what he's doing behind the counter and I bet he will find you a mechanic who can do it for about $ 50.00 labor...Try it and let us know the results...

That boot will cost you as much in labor as replacing the CV joint. I had mine replaced at 100K or so and it was $$$. I was talking to my Jeep mechanic later about it and he said "You should have just driven it with cracked boots until the CV joint started making noise, then replaced the whole thing with a reman unit. You might have gotten another 40K out of it or it might have gone out the next week, but you paid big $$$ to put a new boot over the CV joint with 100K on it when you could have gone longer and put a little more money in and gotten everything new"

Interesting take on it, but it kinda makes sense. Of course I had my boots replaced that the stealership so it cost a lot of $$$.

If just replacing the boot costs nearly the same as a CV joint minus the actual part, do you guys have any ideas what I could put on the crack? Maybe tire cement, rubber cement?
