D4 Light Blinking, Jumping Speedo, High Reving
While driving home, I notice my D4 light started to blink. Not in any particular pattern, just constant like a turn signal. One minute later. My speedo just drops from 70MPH to 0 and jump back and forth for no apparent reason. RPM also jumped to 3250 when its usually 2750 at that speed and gear. I didnt notice anything wrong. Weird sounds, Smells, vibrations, smoke, loss of power. Nothing. 5 minutes later. The check engine light turns on. I stopped by a in-an-out and had my lunch after checking everything. I did notice there was a large wetspot and constant dripping of some liquid from behind the transmission. I couldnt reach it to check what it was.
Full Radiator
Full Oil
Full Transmission Fluid
Full Brake Fluid
Full Power Steering Fluid
Full Gass
when I was done eating... I started the car. and drove 40 miles home without any problems. No lights came on.
I had just changed the oil to mobile 1 synthetic high milage 10w-30 with a napa gold filter.
Just also recharged the a/c
94 EX

D4 light flashing and CEL on is usually a faulty Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). Sometimes they will be intermittent and not return for some time, but usually will return. Lack of VSS can cause hard shifts in some Honda/Acuras. Easy fix to replace the VSS.
Wet spot behind trans may be condensate water from evaporator.
good luck

Thanks Man, you are so awesome lol.
I just jumped the SCC and got codes
15 /1 long 5 short
4 /4 short
and my CEL is blinking code 17 /1 long 7 short
I will have to go through my service manual to see what the CEL light means but
code 4 is vss problems
and code 15 is hard jerking.
thanks

VSS for sure is indicated. Check ebay for an inexpensive VSS (<$25 including shipping last time I looked).
Other trans code 15 looks to be a disconnected main shaft speed sensor, wiring fault, or faulty sensor. Easy fix.

I'm going to interject something here because what I've got is very similar.
D4 light blinked for days and then after a few weeks maybe just 2, it went away. 2 months later while I had the car full of people (it felt heavy) the light started blinking again, on the way back two hours later the light didnt blink again and the car felt smoother with the same people on. Any Ideas?

You can get them for free by using a thin paper clip to short a service connector. Count the D4 flashes for transmission codes, the Check engine light for engine codes.
