This is the hit I used. HONDA ACCORD 2003-2004+ T2 (TOP MOUNT) [TURBO2 DASH KIT] :: DASH KIT [HONDA] :: DASH KITS, POCKETS & TRIM :: Dash Kits Harnesses :: AUTOTOYS | Kaboodle its not the same as OEM. I had climate control in my car. I lost the use of a few buttons with this kit. Also the diagnostic test didn't work. Probably due to not having the proper buttons.

It really sounds like the problem is either with the wiring or electronic controls that came with that kit.

Sometimes you can look at the circuitry and see a bad component on the circuit board.

Did you keep the original unit?

Like a total idiot I didn't. Ill try and takeout apart tomorrow. If its not the kit, what else might be the problem am I looking at a possible 1k plus fix? I need the defroster badly.

I doubt that it would be a 1K fix. Check how the wiring was connected to the aftermarket unit and let us know what you find.

It either has to be aftermarket unit or something with how they wired it at the radio.
