hello all i am new to the honda crowd, having issue with a 93 honda accord was originaly hard start with stall and delay starter engagment, so i removed the main relay flowed new solder to all the points on relay. now the problem is only the delayed engement of the starter and by this i mean turn the key to start some time it taked 2 sec. to get starter action sometimes 20 sec. or more can this be caused by the main relay already replaced battery cables due to high resistance and no change battery tested good . please help , thanks again
Main relay has NOTHING to do with the delayed starter action. (But that doesn't mean the soldering job was wasted effort either.)
It might be worn out contacts inside the starter solenoid, or worn-out brushes in the starter motor itself. Someone (Hondadude??) has posted a picture & instructions about replacing those contacts. Or you may want to just replace the starter assembly.
