I got a distributor from the salvage yard the other day off a 90-93. Figured that would work for my 91 accord. There was one visible difference. My old one had circle connections, ummm the parts where the 3 bolts connect to the head. Now the one I picked up they are hook shaped. Would that be a problem why my car wont start? Theres spark comong from the plugs, small sparks. Is thete anything like not enough spark? Need help

your timing is off. Need to get your timing right. You can get the car started but it will run like crap and you don't want to run it very hard. Install the dizzy keep the bolts loose enough that you can move the dizzy back and forth. It will be trial and error. move the dizzy a fraction of a inch at a time and try staring the car. It will start but like I said it will run like crap and will need your timing redone.

Usually the honda distributors have some kind of identification number stamped on to the housing. Let us know if you can find the stamps on each distributor.

It sounds like the distributor housing holes for the bolts are different. The original distributor had holes and the new distributor has slots. You can loosen the bolts and turn the distributor. It is a way to fine tune the timing.

I think that the car should still start even if the distributor was off a lot in those slots. I wonder if you installed the distributor 180 off?
