Default Directional Signals

I have a 1998 Honda Acoord EX (V-tech 3.0). Recently, the turn signals stopped working whenever, I turn on the headlights or press the brakes. Sometimes, they work fine. However, I find, that if I open the trunk while driving and pull the trunk latch, they turn signals will work. Where do I start to correct this?..i need those signal lights.

Whenever someone posts about strange electrical problems, I think that locating and cleaning the grounds is a good place to start.

To locate the grounds, you will need a shop manual. automanualsource.com sells the OEM manuals as pdfs for $21.99 and worth the investment.

Just unbolt the ground connector. Clean the bolt and eyelet with a wire brush or a piece of sand paper. Then reattach.
