Default distributer

I have a 92 accord with 205000 miles and im having distributer problems and my question is can i go to a junkyard pull a distributer off the same car and put it on mine or are there some timing issues or electrical issues that im unaware of?This has happened to me many years ago and there was a recall and I had it replaced at the dealer for free.No such luck this time I am tring to find the cheapest way to keep it running for as long as I can. Thanks for your help.

yes, you can get it from a junk yard and do a direct replacement. You will however need to reset the timing on your car. I'd also suggest getting a new cap and rotor while you're at it and pickup the distributor o-ring from a dealer (it's cheap...) to replace the one on the dizzy you take from the junk yard.

it's not crucial to 'reset' timing, just position the dizzy in the middle. to set ignition timing you need a timing light.
