Distributor failure Honda Accord 99 V6
Hey,
Need some advice with this problem.
I live in B.C, I recently was driving and i went to pass a car on the highway. When i accelerated my car sputtered and flashing check engine light came on. I turned of the car, turned it back on and it was solid now.
I scanned codes PO301, P0304, P0300, P1399. Codes said its a cylinder misfire in 1 and 4, random misfire and misfire any cylinder from the codes.
Replaced Spark plugs (6) Wire set and had a tune up. Car worked fine for about 10 km then died turning a corner. It would crank but not turn over. I had to tow it back to the shop. Now its said to be the the distributor which costs a about 450 ish. Does this sound like neglegence on the shops part?

Since that incident told them im not willing to put more money into the car if thats whats going to happen. The said they found a distributor in the shop they had sitting around and put that in. No cost/charge. I did notice the radio code needed to be inputted and all the clocks/tickers were rest. So they did something that reset the entire system. Any clue as to what happened. I feel they didnt charge me anything cuz they made a mistake and knew it. Just not sure what the mistake was

They probably disconnected the battery which would cause the clock and radio to reset.
You should disconnect the battery when doing work in the car. They probably forgot to enter the radio code and set the time.
