Default distributor replace

I am changing the distributor in my 96 honda accord ex and i was wondering if any one could tell me any tricks or things i should do or look out for while doing this procedure

The dist. can go into ways. It should seat easily if not it may be off 180 degrees. Just pay attention to the rotor positions. Make sure it has an O ring on the shaft.

Get/borrow a timing light so you can set the spark timing correctly.

There's a blade on the end of the distributor shaft - it fits into a slot in the camshaft. Look & notice that it's off-center. It might be possible to put it in backwards if you hammer it in hard enough. Just be sure it lines up correctly & it'll slide right in.
