Talking Doing a Heater Core in a 97 Honda Accord SE

I want to do my own heater core in my 97. I've been getting some pointers from everywhere but I don't see much on removing the airbags. So, along with the air bags, if anyone has a guide on taking apart the dash for the heater core it would be greatly appreciated??

Are you 100% sure you need a new heater core, have you tried flushing it? It is quite a big job to replace it and I would try everything else first before I went to replace the core.

Crispin is right, it is a pretty time consuming, frustrating job. The airbags are easy, there is just a yellow plug that disconnects them, and there is 4 or 6 bolts that hold the passenger side one in.

What a lame excuse for a forum! I am trying to find out about a dash removal for my 98 accord but will run it into the next pole I see and go back to driving my dodge diesel.

To safely deal with the airbags, you should probably get a shop manual. Check the "common DIY" thread for something about on-line manuals. The one for 5th-gen should have all kinds of detail about dismantling the dashboard. It's too much to write in a thread like this.

Thanx for everyone's help. I will check the DIY section. And to Dandoggy, your simple tail need to find out just about the same things that I need to know, so why you stressin? Go get laid or something before you write something else stupid on my forum !
