Default Downstream O2 sensor

Hi Guys/Gals,

2005 Accord LX 4cyl manual transmission 149k miles.

Malfunction indicator came on last week. Drove fine. Jumped pins on OBD2 plug, got code 63 from the blinks.

Question 1.... Is code 63 the downstream O2 sensor? I saw that is what it is on older models, but couldnt find the code reference sheet I've used in past

Question 2... Any specific brands of O2 sensors recomended, or brands I should steer away from? I saw some comments to stay away from Bosch, although that's what is carried at the local Auto parts store.

Thank You

Not sure of the 63....many parts stores (outside of CA) will test codes for free. Get the actual code from them, not "their description" of the issue.

The OBD-II codes give much more detail. Meaning that with the OBD-II code you could find it is just a blown fuse for the heater circuit vs the OBD-I code just says "something" is up with the 2nd O2.

I hate dead end threads, so I wanted to post the outcome of this.

I tapped on the o2 sensor with a screwdriver. The next day, light went out. Hasn't come back on since (3 weeks).

Best fix ever
