Default Dumb Question; For Cheap Thrill..

I got a 1 owner 311,000 mile 1996 honda accord EX coupe with a vtech 4cyl cars at shop fixing a flat just inherited it so dunno might be 2.2L or less or whatever base eng mod is.
Very well maintained everything works. I have full service history from day it rolled off the factory line and more,... timing belt, tires, alternator etc, those parts that come and go... all new, replaced after they were properly worn out. Everything runs great, lil oil leak but im working on that, so don't comment on the lil oil leak... the car drives as it did off the factory line.

Here it is dumb silly novice question but i am trying to have fun and tinker around today...

Is there any $10-$30 part that i can install, or replace or add on, that will give my car 1-10 more horsepower???? i.e air filter, chip, etc.. (fyi just put new air filter in) But yeah anything out there i can do to achieve 1-10 more horsepower with just a cheap $30 or less part installation?

That isn't likely. You probably wouldn't notice any difference with a 1-15 hp increase.

On a car with that many miles, I would not consider modifying the engine. I would do maintenance to keep it from losing mpg. Like inspect suspension, use silicone paste on the caliper slider pins.

If you want to go with more HP, I would consider the H22 engine swap. I would probably do that if you blow the engine you have right now. You would go from ~145HP to around 200HP. It is a pretty common swap and there is a lot of information out there.

There really isnt any cheap ways of gaining horsepower. Don't buy into the "chips" or "superchargers" they sell on ebay and claim 200hp increases and 85mpg increase. Even $500+ exhaust systems only add 5-10hp.
