I have the shell and blank (ebay) for a duplicate key for my 2003 Honda Accord EX. Can I get someone to "cut/grind" the blank and them use the electonics from the original key? Thanks

 

So you don't want it as a spare? Just open it up, take the keys out and bring them to a hardware store, transfer the transponder chip that sits in the middle of the key and the electronics over.

The problem is finding someone to grind the blank other than a Honda Dealer. I live between Rochester and Syracuse NY. Haven't found anyone locally yet. Pic below is of the new shell/blank (left) and the old key in parts (right). It will still start the car but flimsy. I do have an identical backup key that came with the car as well as a valet key. So nothing urgent, but would like to fix it. Thanks.
