OK Guys, as some of you know, I need a new engine. I found one out of a 92 Accord. Unknown of mileage, and what type of engine, but it IS a 4 cylinder.

Just curious if it will fit my 96 Accord.

 

it's going to be an f22a series and your accord ran an f22b series but it should be an easy swap.... I don't know for certain if all the motor mounts will be right though....

 

So that 92 motor should be an F22a? Mine is an F22B2.

Could that Accord be a different 4 cylinder?

 

Will the Non-Vtec work just as fine?

I just got off the phone with a Junk-yard, and they are saying the 2000 Accord Vtec engine WILL fit. Says to even bring my own distributor to show me.
Is this true guys?

All I know about the engine, is that it has low miles, and it came from a 2000 Accord with Vtec.

 

What engine is in the 93 Accord?

 

90-93 Accords had the F22A series. F22A1, F22A4, or F22A6. All non vtec, all SOHC

 

That accord is a different 4 cylinder kind of.... 94-97 accords came with a couple of engine choices, most notably, a SOHC Vtec and a non-vetc choice, the EX had the SOHC Vtec motor....

 

If I put a 00' Accord EX engine, will the tranni line up?

I already asked around, and engine mounts up right. Just worry about the tranni. And also been told to get the ECU just in case
