Engine and Instrumental panel turning off
Yesterday my car did this several times while driving, that can become interesting getting safely off the road. At first I thought it was my positive terminal connection on my battery because it was loose, which I found the first time that it did it. Corrected that problem and it turned off 3 more times after that. Sometimes it dies right after it starts and the instrument panel goes out than to, wait a few minutes and sometimes the instrument panel and everything comes back on. I just checked all of the codes and there are not any for this problem, the only code is for heater connection on an O2 sensor. I have been driving with that for some time now. Pretty sure the radio keeps playing when everything dies.
I think the cause of this is one of two things, ignition switch assembly or the ECM. I just ordered an ignition switch assembly and will put it on tommorrow. Any one else have any ides?

Thanks, I replaced the switch and everything seems to be working fine. One tip I,learned though. The 1998 model has the chip in the key that requires programming after instalation of the switch, otherwise the car will not start. I had to take mine to the local dealership to have the computer programmed for the keys.

What did they charge you at the dealership to have that done?WheelBrokerAng
