Engine making whining type noise.
1990 Honda Accord DX 2.2 L MT
I started hearing a whining or low grinding noise coming from my engine a couple weeks back. I realized I had forgot to put the clutch fluid reservoir cap back on after adding fluid one day.
The sound started around the time the cap wasn't on. The sound gets louder when I am giving the car gas. I did see a little dirt in the fluid. I also once noticed it would make the noise when i turned the steering wheel.
Should I have the fluid flushed?

Sounds like different issues.
Me, yes I would bleed the clutch. That amount of time with the cap off is not good for DOT 3 fluid.
While there check the PS fluid - Please only use Honda/Acura PS fluid. If the level is fine then listed to the PS pump for noise.
