Default engine swap time

alright so i have a 2001 accord ex 4dr 2.3 vtec, and i just recently threw a rod bearing as some of u may have read, im wonderin if theres any kind of bigger engine besides a v6 that i can put into my car, maybe a dohc vtec prelude engine or somethin? but deffinetly a dohc vtec of some sort, ive already tried lookin around on google and cant really find anything promising, maybe in not lookin in the right places but idk, and if i do get an engine like that would i have to get a different trans?

Well your options for DOHC VTEC are: H22a/a1/a4, H23A, F20B. All of these will work with your current transmission.

$700 is pushing it. You can get a motor for that much(or close), but its usually not a good idea to get one and not replace things like timing belts and other gaskets. tigerjapanese.com usually has the cheapest motors, but they also have mixed reviews.
