I have a 2004 Accord lx, 4 cyl, autotrans. The engine or maybe the trans make a light ticking or rattling sound under light acceleration. It has made this noise since it was new but it seems tobe getting louder as it has gotten older. It currently has almost 100,000 miles.

Any ideas on what it could be? I plan to take it in for the 100,000 miles service soon at an independent shop. I have asked the dealer about it several different timeand they always tell me they don't hear anything. I think they don't actullay check.
