I can't find code 0700, but code 0740 is lock up control system (AT), and the D4 light would be off, but the MIL light should be on.

I drove a 97 Acura TL (2.5L) for several years w/ P0740 (P0700 is general transmission fault and is associated w/ P0740).

P0740 is a hydraulic fault in the torque converter lockup circuit. It can be a bad solenoid valve (stuck closed) or trash in hydraulic circuit. The code is set when a mismatch between engine speed and drive train input shaft speed is detected by speed sensors (torque converter slip is occurring, ie no lockup).

In my case the fault would only be set when speed exceeded 55 mph. Yours could be different. You can observe this result by setting speed control on a slight grade (no downshift). As you go uphill, engine should lug at same rpm/speed if lockup is present, however w/ this code you'll see rpm rise by 150-250 rpm as you hold speed w/ cruise.

good luck
