Question first time honda owner

my oil light comes on and flashes some times any ideas

After checking the oil level I would check your oil pressure and compare to specs for your year and model and last determine why the light blinks

Could be the sensor for the light is dirty, and needs to be cleaned. If that's not the cause, your oil pick-up screen (in the oil pan) could be cloged with sludge, and lowering the oil pressure.
