Fluctuating RPM's

Default Fluctuating RPM's

Well, i took a Dodge intrepid in my '91 Ex tonight, and my car started to run a little weird after. It seems to only happen when i run it over 5k before shifting. but i will start rough, but it will rev high for a few seconds before it slows down. then if i'm moving and i hold the clutch in, i will rev from anywhere around 900 - 1500 RPM's going up and dying down over and over. only when i'm not moving, it will idle like that from a minute or two and then settle. I was told it is probably a bad or dirty MAP sensor. Is this most likely or could it be something else?

MAP isnt the only thing. Could a fewother things...

Air in the cooling system.
Vacuum leaks.
Dirty IACV.
Dirty FITV.
Flaky TPS.
Incorrectly adjusted BASE idle.

Well, it only happens when i push it a good bit. then goes away after a few days. the only time it comes back is if i do it again. i have been trying to watch and figure out exactly where it starts (what max RPM's are before it happens). it idles perfect otherwise.
