Wink front axle seal on a 1998 civic DX 3 door

Hi does any one know which way the axle seal faces on the passenger side. It looks as though it just sits on the metal face, but not quite sure in what direction.

Thks

Dave

does the seal have a flange or just a cup to it? A pic of it would help us answer the question.

Are you talking about the seal on the differential or the seal to the hub?

Default axle seal

It is the seal which goes on to the transmission side which the right front axle fits in to. The area where the seal sits has a flange on it not like the drivers side where the seal was able to be pounded in. I will attach a pic.

Default Axle seal

That's a great photo but it is what the drivers side looks like not the passenger side. See my photo of the flange which prevents the seal from being tapped in as the seal is the same outside diameter as the outside of the flange.

Are you sure you have the correct seal? Is your car an auto or manual trans.
