[QUOTE=Tek310;251237]Oops it is the rear section of the front sub frame. It's bent. I still have +2* of camber on my front passenger wheel.

Hi all,

I'm also having a similar issue, except on the driver side. The lower control arm mounting point is bent in toward the centerline of the car, causing the positive camber. Any tips on removing/replacing the rear section of the front subframe?

TIA

So you too have an issue with #2 in the pic? Just want to be sure I understand the question.

Yep, #2 is the problem. I wish I could put a bfh to it to fix it but one of the spot welds has failed and it would give me more peace of mind to just replace it.

I have gone in there to see what is attached.

You have to jack up the rear of the engine and unbolt the rear motor mount. Obviously your lower control arms. Also need to unbolt the rack n pinion mouning bolts. To drop the rack, you will need to unbolt it at the steering input shaft.

Very labor intensive project. AllData says for a professional tech with proper tools 6.3
hours.

Plan out a weekend, bc that's how long it will take.

I am going go do this when I have my car torn apart over winter.

Thanks for your reply, when you say "unbolt [the rack] at the steering input shaft", do you mean the point closest to the rack? And does this require any special tools or tricks?

Thanks again.

Yes, but this actually done from inside the car-there is a "boot" inside the car covering the steering, remove that and you will see the "pinch bolt"....stongly suggest a good manual.

Thanks, have any of you heard of any differences between the 5sp and auto subframes? I tried to pick one up today but all the useable ones at the junkyard were autos, and someone told me the autos don't have the same subframes as the 5 speeds.

We know exactly what Tek drives because he has his car info in his signature...you don't?

Now according to majestic honda....the beam is the same part number between the auto and manual 4 cyl for a 94.

yes the front sub-frame is identical.

3pcs

now some manufacturers with give automatics a solid front sub-frame, bc you dont usually have to drop the tranny for maintenance like u do a 5spd

attached are the steps of removal of the rack n pinion(even though they call it a gearbox) two different things.

a gear box incorporates a pitman arm connected to steering shafts that control wheel turning
