Fuel injector cleaning?
#3
I'm probably the exception, but I generally remove the injectors and have them ultrasonically cleaned at around 100K. I've been talked into the injector service where the injectors stay installed, but it didn't seem to do any good. I removed them and had them cleaned and I noticed an improvement.
Some people will say not to go looking for problems to solve if you don't have any problems and there's something to that. In my case, I have ended up chasing issues and cleaning the injectors was either convenient at the time or one of the possible solutions to a problem I was experiencing. As I'm getting older, I'm leaning toward the path of least resistance - if there's no problem, you don't need a solution. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that if you are going to clean them, removing them and having them cleaned ultrasonically is the best way. It'll cost more if you pay someone to do it but you'll get better results.
