fuel injector leaks
Hi everyone. I have a 2002 Honda Accord with 44,200 miles on it. Took it to the mechanic a couple days ago because it was puttering a little when starting up, smelling of burnt gas, and the check engine light was coming on. Turns out that I have 3 leaky fule injectors that the mechanic recommends replacing instead of rebuilding. Decided to do the 4th one since 3 are already leaky. Cost is over $800. Is this typical for a 7-year old Accord with so few miles on it?
Thanks in advance for your help.

At $120 to $160 each per injector, maybe that's on the high side of almost reasonable? It's not super-difficult for you to replace them yourself.
You might try putting some injector-cleaner in the gas tank (Techron, SeaFoam, something like that). But if it's leaking OUT, that may just make the leak worse along with cleaning out the injector. Then you could buy new O-ring seals (much cheaper), remove your injectors & replace the seals.
PS... A 7-year-old car with 44k miles tells me that it makes a LOT of short trips and/or lots of storage. That can contribute to dirty injectors.

what is leaking ?? is it the injectors seals? or the injectors itself,, if it is the seals just have them replace all the seals on the injectors.. if it is the injectors, get some non-factory injectors , they come with seals , you can save a lot of money.... and what was the chk engine lite code ??
