itmight be a bad shift position switch,, it is the switch located under the center console on the driver side,
I could almost swearI said something like that in my response.
Icould almost swear I said nothing about the interlock solenoid.

You did.. you were totally on the right tracks ,, for future reference Dude,, if you get a car with same symptoms,, do not waste your time trying to take it apart and cleaning it just replace it ,,,,
I cleaned both of them trying to save both of my customers money and on either case it did not help,
replacing them was the only solution
