99 Accord - Gear "D" indicator on dash not working
Hi everyone! My 99 Accord failed inspection in MD because the light indicator for "D" gear on the dashboard does not lit up. Any idea where the problem may be and how to fix it?

i have never removed that part of my dash. I would think that you would have to. you can pm keep Hope alive or wait till he gets on. I am sure he will have a more definate answer for you. He has had his car completely apart.

the lights for the transmission position are inside the instrument cluster. getting that out is easy. step #1, disconnect battery negative and make sure you have the CODE to unlock your factory head unit (if applicable). there are two screws that hold the trim ring in, on the top of the trim (use a stubby philips). then there are 4 philips/10mm screws holding the instrument cluster in. after loose, tilt it forward to disconnect the harnesses. then it comes out.
i agree that it's the bulb since that bulb is lit the longest and is just wired to the dimming circuit (i checked the schematic).
