Hands Free Control Has Stopped Working

Enter your car and phones information. There should be a set of instructions on how to pair the phone with your car. Sounds like you have done this already.
The other information I found out there for an Acura TL is turn the key to the acc (I) position, and hold the back button for more than 5 seconds. It should tell you that the HFL is ok or needs serviced.
Somewhere else I found that if you hold the call start and the end buttons for 10 seconds with the key in the acc (I) position, it will go into diagnostics mode and unfreeze it?
It may not work, but it is worth a shot.

I tried the things that work with the Accura but it appears for the UK accord they're not the same or the problem is deeper than this.
Appreciate the advice though thank you
It's been a while since I posted so to give an update. At the moment the hands free is still out of operation (got a visor hands free to allow some form of hands free). The local honda dealership swapped a working MCIU and confirmed this rectified the problem. In addition the alarm siren (nothing else/lights etc) has been going off at random intervals - irritatingly when it goes off it is impossible to stop - even taking the battery out makes no difference as it is battery backed up! Anyway they initially determined it to be the siren unit causing the issue. Siren replaced (£600+) it still does it. They now believe it is down to the same faulty MCIU unit! So looking at another £500, my patience is starting to wear thin
Is it possible the MCIU could be partially faulty - my experience of processor chips says they either work or they don't? Also anyone know if they can just be rewriten rather than replaced - though I don't want it tuned due to the insurance ramifications

Mine is having the same problem....just found out this morning...was fine yesterday....when i press the phone button i hear no bleep...the radio still mutes and the phone is still paired....i tried calling a number and the phone does dial but without sound....seem like the HFT sound has gone!
It normaly asks "what name or number would you like to call"...the screen also displays that the phone is on! any help pls??

That's a bit different from mine - on mine the button now no longer does anything. I'd suggest on yours test another profile - of if not recreate the profile for the phone on the car and see if it sorts it.
Regarding mine I believe the bluetooth module has gone - would mean a £1000+ spend which isn't happening so no hands free any more

The car's HFT system stopped working today. i.e when you press the phone button or cancel you would normally get a Bleep and it would take you into or out of the phone menu. Neither of which is happening.
The phone is no longer connecting to the HFT system.
I am crossing fingers this is just a fuse issue but looking in the manual I can't see a reference to HFT in the fuse box. Does anyone know if it does have a fuse and if so what number it is located on?
Has anyone had experience of HFT issues on the accord - things to try?
Many thanks

I figured it out. I might be late, but better late than never. I have a 2011 Honda Accord and my hands free link was just giving me the same issue. All I did was pull the panel around the bottom of the steering wheel, it's all clips, but be careful not to break any. Once the panel is removed, to the left in a little hole there's a black box with a connector leading into it. That's your Bluetooth module. Make sure the car is off, and proceed to disconnect that module, it's a simple push tab and pull, really easy. You may blow into the connector, and then reconnect and reassemble the panel and it should work from there. It worked for me.

Moral of the story to make the honda HFT pair again, bring a similar phone around, just place it in discoverable mode, that somehow relaunches the bluetooth module and gets to work again.
It’s has been working fine now for weeks.
>honda accord 2012 d-tec (EURO).
Turn ignition to position II. Hold the two phone buttons down for at least 10 seconds and the HFT will beep and announce status - happily mine was “HFT is working” and o was able to re-pair phone - good luck!
