Hard starting everytime I buy fuel and want to start the car
Please I need help with my car.
I have been having problems with whenever I buy fuel and I want to start the car.
I would have to hold down the throttle before the car starts and it brings out black smoke.
I already bought a new ejector mouth.
The mechanic after scanning mentioned something about EGR system and high purge flow.
He also told me the fuel filter might be bad.
Please I need someone to tell me what to do.
I have spent a lot.
Thanks

What year/version/engine is your Honda Accord?
Where are you located? Some things depend on what country your car is built for.
What's an "ejector mouth"?
Can you tell us more detail about what the mechanic told you?

Im new here also and this is the very reason I joined up. every time my wife
put's fuel in the car it doesent want to start and act's like it starving for fuel.
I just replace the fuel pump, fuel tank pressure sensor and also evap canistor
with no change. Once the car has been driven it starts fine until the next time you put fuel in it. I also inspected the tank while I had the pump out and it's clean.
This is a 2000 Accord with the 4 cylinder. Thank's Loren.
P.s. Sorry to high jack your thread but it sounds like we both have the same issue...

It may actually be flooded instead of lack of fuel.
Possibly due to a stuck open EVAP canister purge valve. When fuel evaporates inside the gas tank, the excess fuel vapors are transferred to the charcoal canister. The fuel vapors are stored there until they can safely be transferred back to the engine to be burned with the normal air-fuel mixture.
If it stuck open during refueling, even more fuel vapors are allowed to enter the intake manifold. Your car becomes flooded. Pressing the accelerator pedal gets the car to start from the flooded situation.
In other words, the way the EVAP purge valve suppose to operate is to open while driving, so the engine can suck/purge fuel vapors out of the charcoal canister and use that to be burned with the normal air-fuel mixture.
