Default has anyone ever seen/used this intake?

http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/colfroninsys.html

i found this intake the other day and i've never seen this style before.
i was wondering if anyone has any information on it, whether or not its good.
im kind of skeptical about it. it seems like the way its bent would inhibit airflow.
any info is appreciated.
-mike.

It isn't a turbo intercooler. It is a cold air intake that mounts in the front of your vehicle where your air dam opening is. It will probably give you great horsepower since a lot of air will go directly into it. Go for it man! I've heard good things about that type of intake. Take a look at the pic. It will give you a better idea.

It goes in the rectangular gap between the bumper and front air dam

I would also be worried about lots of rain. They have plexiglass covers w/ holes for rain...but I wouldnt be the most comfortable w/ that thing, though it looks SWEET!

You know...I just got to looking at this thing. Doesn't it look just like a regular old stockK&N air intake attached to a small box with some tubing? Just a thought...you could probably make one yourself!

i dont think it gives you any more hp than a normal intake. i was talking about this same intake with a friend recently. its good in theory, but that air isnt smooth at all, and it certainly isnt being "rammed" down the throat of the intake manifold. the air is gonna smack the backside of the box part then get sucked in thru the piping. im willing to bet your performance would be worse due to the "air hitting wall-effect" and the long route the air has to go thru to reach the manifold.

I see it as, all the air flow which would be massive compared to a CAI would be shoved in so hard it wouldnt really have time to stop or gets pushed back out. I most def. think that the gains would be higher than any other intake.

I agree with you 19ACCORD97. I don't see how it wouldn't give u more horsepower than a cold air intake? I have an AEM V2 on my 99 accord and the filter is hid pretty well behind the bumper. When I took my bumper off the other day(to pull onto an alignment lift) and rode down the road I noticed an increase in horsepower with the filter out in the open air.
