Having a Light Problem.. :(
After I fix this, or think it's fixed with lights working properly.. would the inline fuses protect the frying of wires/chance of fire in the case of a burnt spot that i missed ever coming in contact with metal and causing an arc? that is what causes an overload and blows fuses correct? i ask because tomorrow.. im going to peel away the stuck wires as far as i can, and install the inline fuses and hook the power back up because i have to go somewhere after dark. all of the 'bad' spots i have uncovered from tape/loom will be sealed with heatshrink, but beyond that, some wire could still be melted together causing turn signal to come on constant with tail lights.. that is a nuisance, but hazard only if wires touch metal and NO fuse right?
if you put an inline fuse in make sure that it is the same amp rating as the fusebox was (15 amp if I recall) and that should protect you in case of an arc it'll just blow the fuse
installed the in-line fuse (15 amp was correct) and I'm now able to drive at night again.. Still gradually going to trace the wire all the way through, just from here on out I have to remove gauge cluster/radio bezel. Then I'm going to heatshrink the whole thing.. and other sections of any other wires that got harmed in sections. Once that's all done, wire loom it up best I can.. hopefully I find all the spots where the passenger side turn signal is crossed with parking light. thanks for the help!
