heating/ac panel stopped working...
On the heating/ac panel, the buttons to push to change from blowing on your face, feet, etc... stopped working today. The small lights above the buttons do not come on. it seems to be stuck in defrost mode with the ac engaged. the temp control **** seems to work and the left speed control **** works. Is there a fuse for this problem? thanks so much!!!
okay so I looked on another forum and found someone with the same issue... I tried what was recommended to them and it fixed the problem... FREE! so here is what I did, you may want to try this first...
remove the clock unit from the panel by taking a flathead screwdriver and prying it out from the bottom- then disconnect the two wire plugs. then unscrew the entire panel, there are two screws on the bottom edge of the panel and one located in the space behind where the clock was. then pry the panel off. there will be two wire plugs going into the heating/ac component, one attached to the side that controls the fan (which doesnt need to be disconnected) and one on the side that controls the heat/cool ****. unplug this one and blow in the connection areas and plug it back it hard. it seems that my car had a poor connection somewhere and this seemed to fix it right up! hope this helps!

Thanks for posting the solution. That was the first time I read about this fix.
Was there any dust in the connector? Maybe use some dielectric grease or twist the pins a bit if the problem returns.
