Help on 1996 Accord LX engine swap.
I am a new member and I would much appreciate some help or suggestions. I'm sorry if this post is in the wrong place. I have a 1996 Honda Accord LX with a 2.2l engine. The motor is an F22B2-3554839. It has approximately 207,000 miles and is the original motor. Long story short I blew a timing belt on the highway going about 70mph. This being a money issue I would like to swap the motor by myself, and do it fairly cheap. I can get a motor with 118,000 miles for about $450.00. Is this a good idea? The car has a newer transmission and I am kind of attached to it. Is there maybe a forum or website that can give me thorough directions (or suggestions) for swapping a motor? I have all the tools, an electric hoist, and good mechanical know-how. Can someone please help me??
Thanks...
Thanks...

I would not recommend blowing 450 dollars on that motor... Search around better and you should be able to find a way better deal... These non vtec f22's usually go for around 100 to 200 dollars or lower milage complete motors for 300 to 400 if you do some looking around... I got our 60k mile f22 for 180 dollars for a complete motor at a local salvage yard, and just had it ran through and compression tested... Your best bet in swapping motors is going to be to label everything... It will make your job much easier when reassembling... Also take pictures of everything as coming apart, as this will work as a how to on reassembly... Get some ziplock bags, and label all nuts and bolts as they come off and what they go too... Your main goal is to accomplish the swap w/ no leftover bolts... Dont be discouraged if you have a few leftover... I'll admit, even after labeling everything I had a few left...
