I have 98 Honda Accord LX, automaticwith only 58K.The car sounds terrible when I accelarate from 30 mph and up. The higher the mph, the louder the car. It sounds like its stuck on 3rd or 4th gear, but the RPM readingis ok.

Does anyone know what mightbe the problem before I bring it to the shop?

 

You need to be a lot more specific and detailed in your problem description than "sounds terrible". Is the noise exhaust noise, wheel noise, brake noise, engine noise or what? Are the trans shifts occurring at about same speeds as always?
