Help with ABS prob
Hi, new member here. I have had an 1997 Accord Ex 4cyl for 7 years now, and my ABS has always been funny. It has always made a buzzing sound while pulling in fluid when I turn on my car. The sound goes away after a few seconds, then the ABS light will come on. Starting about 2 weeks ago the sound has stopped, has not taken in any fluid and the light stays on. I have just recently been fixing the car myself with the help of a trained friend (struts, coil overs, ball joints, bearings, a/c...), is this something I can figure out myself? My Hayes manual tells me to just take it to a professional. If I need a new one, is there a way I can tell if one I pull myself at the junkyard works or not? Thank you so much for any help. I hope I can help some of you as well!
You can get abs codes from your car. It is the same procedure as checking for OBD1 error codes on a 94/95 accord, you just count the ABS light flashes.
Look at the procedure in the DIY section called how to check CEL codes. When you count the ABS light flashes.
The Online manuals thread in the DIY section has a link for a 94 shop manual. The 94 has some minor differences. For doing abs work, it is the same. It also gives a description on the patterns for the codes.
Post the codes you find on here.
