HELP!!! Key gets stuck in accessory position.
Recently my key got stuck in myignition in the accessory position while I stopped at the store. It seems if I turn the steering wheel by driving around the parking lot I can get the key out after several attempts. Igo to turn off the car and the keyonly goes back to the accessory position. It won't go to the position that allows me to remove the key. It's not the key because I've used my spare with the same result. It seems to be getting worse with every day. Any body ran across this problem, if so let me know what you think

RE: HELP!!! Key gets stuck in accessory position.
depending on the year/model of it it could be a worn key, bad ignition or sticky tumblers, you could try a small amount of WD-40 in there or some graphite powder, also does it make a difference if you push the key in and then rotate it back? and you mentioned getting the key out by driving around the parking lot and turning? do you just shut it off wherever it happens to stop then? your steering wheel lock may be sticky too, once the car is stoped trying rotating the steering wheel side to side as you attempt to remove the key and see if that helps as well...

Not sure what year you have or model, but there is a strange problem that may be related. Check out this site for more info
