HELP! My 2009 V6 Coupe is SLOW!!!
I picked up my new 2009 V6 Coupe in August and have about 3,500 miles on it. This is my second coupe. My last Accord was a 2006 V6 Coupe.
Here is the problem... I am getting beat off the line by every car on the road! It seems, unless I change the gears manually, I have no pickup and my 0 to 60 time has to be around 7 to 8 seconds! My 2006 coupe was REALLY fast no matter when I dropped the hammer. With my new 2009 I feel I have to feather the gas peddle and I cannot put the peddle on the floor. PLEASE HELP!!!! Tell me everything will be okay!
Here are the cars that I have been embarrassed by. It pains me to admit it but here is the list...
1. 2008 to 2009 Ford Escape V6 4WD
2. 2007 to 2009 Lexus IS 250
3. 2007 to 2009 Dodge Charger V8 (not SRT)
4. 2007 to 2009 Chevy Impala SS

Bahahaha... how old are you? Why are you even wasting time racing?
Cars 2 - 4 should own you. The Escape must've gotten lucky.
If you wanted a damn "race" car, you should have bought one. Not to mention, you didn't get a manual tranny.
Did you search for a 0-60 time for a coupe V6 5AT? You'll never guess.... but it's 8 seconds!!!!
I don't know why you're disappointed... you test drove the car before you bought it, right? So you should know how it drove before you signed on the dotted line.

The 0 to 60 on the 09 coupe V6 is 5.7 to 6.1 seconds. Please do not give me its an automatic BS.

Your car is almost 11 years old. Why don't you buy a new car? Or is 30K to much for you to afford?
How old am I? You have commented on just about every post in the fourm and have a profile picture of Vince Vaugn motor boating! Get a life.
I am 27 and don't "race" people. Its called passing power.

The 06 and 09 are different generation accords.
Honda may have changed the gear ratios and shift points in your 09 accord. The weight may also be different. Hondas are designed for the typical daily driver, so the accord may not be the car of choice for racing with an AT. That is stuff I don't know off hand.
This forum is typically used for car repairs, not racing/tuning. So, you will see members on here (like me) with older accords seeking advice on how to do their own repairs. Maybe members on a tuning site will have some better advice.
Please don't post about how you are better than all of us, because you have the finances to own a new accord. Either keep quiet and stop putting other members down, or don't come back on here.

Its ok i'm sure his parents helped him buy the car and i own all my vehicles out right and have no payments so he can keep hating but i have money leftover from my paychecks to take his girlfriend out while his whole check goes to pay for his slow accord

I think the 8th gen V6 throttle is limited from a stop, to prevent torque steer. After the car is moving, the passing power should be just as good as the 06 was. Flooring it, from a stop, is not passing, it's drag racing, which this car is obviously not designed for. If I'm not mistaken, the 0-60 time for the automatic V6 is 7.1, which is the same number for the 7th gen.
