help! third brake light works but not the other two!
hi guys! i am new here and am in desperate need of help! i have '05 accord sedan and the brake lights on the body quit working yesterday. the third light still works fine. i checked the #13 fuse under the hood and its good, put new bulbs in and replaced the brake switch and i am still getting no lights back there.
also, i noticed about a month ago my cruise started acting sketchy. it will turn on and then when i engage it it will kick on and then cut off at hills. this only happens rarely though.

Got a multi-meter? Check the rear brake lamp sockets. Find out whether the ground is open or the hot is missing. Open ground might be the more common problem.
I'm guessing the cruise is not related.

As Jim stated, check for ground and power.
From the wire diagram, know that power is from the WHT/BLK wire. It is from the brake switch. Also note that that same wire feeds all three lights, however the "tie in" for the high mount/third light is before the tie in/split to the "outer" ones. All three (4 door) use the same ground G701....the two door uses G702 only for the right-pass side tail light.
Any work done on this car recently?
