Default HELP WITH TRANSMISSION

Hello
My wife has a 1999 Honda Accord V6 LX coupe 6 Cyl 2dr automatic transmission.

Recently i noticed a very weird thing about the transmission.....when the car is in third gear lets say u wanna stop in a stop light or stop sign u let the gas pedal go and dont hit the brake right away .....while the car is slowing down without pressing the brakes the speed goes down then it downshifts from 3rd gear to 2nd gear ....right when it downshifts from 3rd to 2nd gear the car jerks little bit ...sometime it feels like somebody kicked the car from back ....dun know what it is

Can anyone tell me what it could be?
thanks
i would appreciate any help

You may have an EGR problem, I doubt that would make it downshift into 2nd though, I know that honda had problems with he v6 trannys. say you take off from a stop sign, about 60-70% throttle, when it shifts out of 1st gear into second gear does it seem to flare up or take a second to go into gear, once it does it almost feels like 2 gear pulls hard? if it does that you need a trans.

Something is definitely up with the transmission. You might want to change the tranny fluid (use honda atf) to see if that helps. It is a lot less expensive than buying a new/used tranny. Most people suggest to drain, refill three times to replace most of the old fluid (do not have the tranny flushed). Inspect the fluid for any metal shavings and/or burning smell.

There are also some solenoids with screens that can get clogged up. You might want to clean them out to see if that helps.
