have a honda accord 1995..
the high beam will not stay on... when I pull the switch, the highbeam turns on, but when I let go of the switch it turns back to normal....
however, sometimes when its very cold outside, it sometimes sticks in highbeam-mode until my car gets heated up inside...
fixable or do I have to replace the switch?

Probably switch needs replacement.

I meant most likely will need to replace switch.

It is a lot of work to get to the switch.

I think it is a better idea to just replace it instead of trying to fix it.

 

Actually that is pretty interesting, I had thought the steering wheel had to be removed to access the combo switch.

I would def try the procedure shown, doesn't look that bad at all to do.

I pulled out the switch, opened it and cleaned the contacts...
did not help...

Today I replaced the switch with an identical one from another Accord, and it still did not fix the problem..

any other ideas?!
maybe the used switch I bought had the same problem, but I really doubt it...it was pulled from a honda 1995 with 49 000 miles on it

 

Have you tested the dimmer relay? I would test the inputs to it and then the relay to be sure.....dimmer relay is different than the headlight relay....underhood fuse panel.
