Default high under hood temp

does anyone else have extremely hot under hood temps? i mean my strut bar burns my hand, thats how hot it is under the hood.

this is the first car i have had that is like this.

i have bled the cooling system, filled the reservoir. the temp gauge reads normal, couple mm below the half mark.

fans work normal.

any ideas?

Can't really say.....this time of year where I live the temps are ~95, getting a break this weekend only 90. So yes it gets hot after driving...your temp gauge sounds right...just remember the cooling fans kick on at ~194*, so yea it is hot under there.

That is hot if the strut bar burns your hand. Try to find a way to get cooler air into your engine compartment some how by directing out side air upward toward the inside top of your hood..back in the OLD DAYS we cut louvers into the top of the hood..hummmm..gives me an idea to start makeing those hoods again..Just an idea that used to work guys..Yep Im older that 98 % of you in here..
