Default Hold to start

Hello,

In the last week(on two seperate occasions) I had to hold the key in the on position to get it to start my 96 accord lx. I would try to crank as usual, everything would come on, but the car wouldnt start. So I decided to hold the key in the on position, started right up. The thing is that it doesnt do it consistently. Could something be wrong with the ignition coil?? I have never had this part looked at or replaced. It is the orginial coil for this car.

Should I just go and replace this? What other parts should I be looking at besides the ignition coil?

Any help is appreciated!!

I'd look at the electrical part of the ignition switch.

If you can get it to keep running simply by holding the key a bit, that almost proves it.
