Default Hole in gas tank

96 accord LX coupe. In cleaning up the trunk well, I noticed the smell of gas, and discovered a screw about 2 inches to the left of the fuel sending unit access cover (as you're looking in from the trunk.) It looks like the previous owner drilled through the tank looking for a ground for the sound system, then just put a screw (#10, about 1/2" long) in the hole to keep fumes and gas from leaking out.

I've heard that epoxy with mesh can patch the hole. Can I fix the hole from inside the trunk? Or, do I need to pull the tank out to do get at the top side of the tank?

Only you can tell that ,, do you have clear access to patch it properly from the top ?? if yes I would do it from the top,, If not then you might have to remove the tank to repair it properly
