Default homelink

I have an 06 Accord EX-L 2.4 with Navi. I want to add Homelink capability to my existing module.

I purchased a Homelink module on ebay and it works with my garage door after I installed it, but it does not have the microphone necessary for voice commands. I would like to have both the voice commands AND the Homelink capability.

The microphone connector on my existing module is apparently soldered to the circuit board. The circuit boards on both modules appear to be identical execpt for the mic connector. Is it possible to unsolder the existing mic connector and solder it to the other circuit board with Homelink? I've done some soldering work in the past, but by no means do I consider myself an expert. So 2 questions:

1) Is this something a somewhat experienced do-it-yourselfer can do without disaster?
2) If I can transfer the microphone, is there any way to know in advance if my voice commands will work with the replacement modlule? It is supposed to be compatible with 03-06 accords.

How much did you pay for the homelink? Which one (model number) was it? I'm looking to get one, but not for $100.
